Mango’s Summer Fashion Show
April 30th, 2008 Fashion & Style, News Flash
Clothing brand, Mango held a Summer Fashion Show at their store in Apkujong-dong last week. Since it’s Mango, we know that the stars will be somewhat dressed stylishly.
Chae Shira (above right), Hwang Bo, Hyun Young, Hwang Jung-eun, Lee Jin (above left) and Song Eun attended.
Girl can fry an egg with all the oil on her face.

Obviously, the better dressed were on the runway.
Check it out.
Chae Shira wears putrid yellow and white. Never understood how Asians can wear this color.
Hwang Bo is a vagabond with this foral dress, black hat and oversized weekend bag.
Hwang Jung-eun is tanned and ready for summer in this tube floral top. Wonder if she’s cold?
Hyun Young looks ghastly under the lighting and her lace-y jacket doesn’t help.
Lee Jin’s simple outfit makes her face look extra shiny. If she wore loud prints, perhaps that would have helped to distract from her face.
Park Han-byul. Best dressed goes to Ms. Park. The wide-legged pants (although a bit big) and off-the-shoulder top is chic combo from far away
Song Eun should have nixed the black stockings and just followed the look of the model above.

Lee Jin’s face is one thing, but what is going on with her obnoxious hair?! It looks like she rolled out of bed and had a two year old stylist fluff her hair! Also, her outfit actually made me gag. ew.
April 30th, 2008 at 5:40 am

April 30th, 2008 at 5:51 am
Lee Jin looks ready to fry an egg on her face! There’s a difference between “glow” and “grease”, hers is unfortunately the latter.
April 30th, 2008 at 6:29 am
eww, lee jin’s face is soo disgusting. she should wash her face better
April 30th, 2008 at 6:31 am

I think Lee Jin looks fine!
April 30th, 2008 at 7:51 am
Some of the outfits are, um, interesting. I can’t get over the fact how different Lee Jin appears. I barely recognize her. Yeah, and her face looks greasy, but she could be sweaty as well.
April 30th, 2008 at 8:09 am
oily, Oily OILY!!!!!
FaCe!
its okay, next time you will remember to put powder on your face when you see this.
April 30th, 2008 at 8:22 am
it could be the results from a shimmer lotion? maybe she just got a really good facial that moisturized her face so well…that’s what happened with me.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:01 am
She can cook with the oil on her face
April 30th, 2008 at 9:09 am
innerestin has a point there. i had a free tube of nokdu lotion and the result was a shiny face. ugh. i gave it away to a friend …
i rather like chae shira’s outfit. her shoes coordinate perfectly with her skirt and the bag goes well with her blouse. agreed, brighter colors would have really made her outfit pop, but it’s not so bad as is.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Yeeeeaaah girlz! It’s practically summer!
I love spring outfits, the lighter fabrics, the brighter colors, and the room for creativity people have (Koreans in winter time seem to be monochromatic and bundled up, not so fun)
Hahaha, poor girl with the oily face.
BTW, it’s probably not all oil but also sweat.
And you guys are so funny, have you never snapped a photo of yourself in the afternoon long after you’ve put on make up? You’re probably shiny too.
I’ve heard Asian women tend to have oilier skin? That was actually from a make-up artist and the founder of a make-up line.
I’ve been an MUA (make up artist) for shoots, and seriously, you get shiny FAST under the bright lights. It’s not a joke when you see people getting ‘touch ups’ that consist of a few hits with powder.
It’s hard enough to keep shine under control on a controlled set. Maybe if this girl saw her pic and how oily she was, she’d be motivated to pop out her compact every 15 minutes.
The thing is, it does seem overly self-conscious and superficial to be touching up so frequently, though that’s what it takes for an oily skinned young person in the warmer months.
Have ever you ever seen super make-up girls in Kangnam and Apku who constantly have a powder case in one hand? It’s not really an elegant look.
April 30th, 2008 at 10:06 am
Trying to give off the “glow” appeal only resulted in a greasy face. ^o^~
April 30th, 2008 at 10:33 am
It’s Hwang Jung Eum and Sung Eun.
I think Hyun Young looked really nice, as always.
Park Han Byul could’ve used a bit more makeup though.
April 30th, 2008 at 10:41 am

April 30th, 2008 at 10:42 am

April 30th, 2008 at 11:56 am

April 30th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
I like Hwang Bo’s style because its unique.
And to Lorielle, Fashion is not only following trends. Having your own style is what is most admirable.
April 30th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
hyun young’s outfit is actually okay.

May 1st, 2008 at 9:41 pm
“Never understood how Asians can wear this color.” SERIOUSLY. What does being Asian have anything to do with wearing yellow? not only is this politically incorrect, this is also quite relative and too generalizing. i do hope it’s not pun for the so-called “yellow race/skin” can’t-match-yellow-with-yellow kind of thinking. any person can wear whatever the hell they want, even in screaming canary yellow regardless of race, as long as they carry it well and with confidence.
May 2nd, 2008 at 4:38 am
very well said, blaire!!!
May 2nd, 2008 at 6:38 am
her face is disgusting
May 2nd, 2008 at 7:38 am
Well technically even with colors, it’s not about the actual ‘value’ of the color (pink, green, etc.) but about the shade and tone, how light and dark it is, etc.
For instance, everyone can pull of red, but different amounts of blue in the red change the value and better match your tone. For many fair skinned east asians, a more orange shade of red is considered attractive.
As for yellow — yeah, that is a blanket statement however it’s something that Koreans say.
There are lots of shades of yellow and lots of shades of Asians.
Especially Koreans — my mama is porcelain skinned and my pops is quite tan. Kim Kum Mo is pretty tan and Kim Tae Hee is pretty fair. I think stereotypically, people equate Koreans from the south and the coasts (like Pusan) to being darker.
Again, to find your most flattering shade of any color, just play with the amount of other colors in it (green, red, etc.) to best suit your particular coloring.
