44th Paeksang Arts Awards Red Carpet: Part II

More floaty dresses! Park Junga, Park Shin-hye, Park Shi-yeon, Song Yuri, Song Yeh-jin, Yoo In-young and Yoon Eun-hye all chose gorgeous dresses this time around at the 44th Paeksang Arts Awards. And can’t forget the men, they don’t look half-bad either.
The 2008 Paeksang Arts Awards will air on SBS.
Overall, the dresses were divine….
Hyun Young. Love the rose colored taffeta dress and especially the feather clutch.
Park Jung-a looks simply gorgeous! Love the blue color on her!
Park Shinhye. For some reason, the folds and details on the pale gray dress reminds me of a thatched roof of a hut in some tropical island. Too bad the color is so dull.
Park Shi-yeon keeps her chest in check with this empire waist chiffon dress. She reminds me a teensy weensy bit of J. Lo when she wore that gorgeous coral chiffon dress in the movie, Maid in Manhattan. But of course, that dress was simply divine.
Sung Yuri & Kang Jihwan. The Hong Gil-dong co-stars play matchy-matchy in white. Ms. Song’s dress adds some bright citrus to the red carpet. But another too-long dress that needs to be hemmed.
Son Yeh-jin. The color of the dress is fabulous but she looks so washed out. What happened to her makeup? Who did her eyebrows? They are so unruly.
Yoo In-young (with Kim Ji-suk). The wine satin halter dress is perfect for her thin n’ tall frame. But she should have been more daring with her choice of dress… such as the Lanvin dress below.
Yun Eun-hye. Ah yes. I lust for everything in the Lanvin Spring 2008 collection but I know that there are some things that no matter how much I love will not work for me. If Ms. Yun should have have been so wise, she would have avoided this dress. First, her image is more cutesy, not so glamazon. And this dress needs a body to match as well as the attitude to pull it off. And frankly, she is lacking - that’s why she has her hand firmly grasped on the dress to emphasize her leg.
And now for the men… from Part I, bowties are definitely in and so are all-white suits. Finally, the old-school classics are coming back.
Ha Jungwoo & Kim Yoonsuk from the hit movie, The Chaser. Mr. Ha looks hot!
Jang Geunsuk looks tight in this all white suit.
Kim Hongsu’s cuffed pants are too short and his whole outfit is mismatched white. Ugh. Just because it’s white doesn’t mean that everything matches.
Kwon Sangwoo looks old-school handsome in the bow-tie.
Lee Dongwook looks like a lounge singer with the smudges on this face.
Lee Phillip creeps me out. He is a Bae Yong-joon wanna-be.
Lim Changjung looks happy to be there.
Park Yongha looks fine in the white bow-tie and nicely cut black suit.
Song Kangho. Never realized that Mr. Song was so trim when his face is so chubby.
Yu Gon. An avant-garde gray jacket that I will never appreciate.

Most of the dresses are simply lovely.
I don’t know why exactly but I kind of like Yoon Eun Hye’s dress, the colour is gorgeous and she looks gorgeous wearing it. It’s just a tad awkward for her to keep holding up the front like that but the shoes, gosh WHY did she wear those shoes?

Kim Min Hee carries the vermillion dress beautifully! The hem of the dress hangs at the lower calf nicely. Can’t say the same for YEH. Why does she need to pull it up even when walking on level ground? The blue dress is beautiful in itself.She is drawing unnecessarily attention to her thick knee.

Lee Philip looks freakin’ crazy. I mean, seriously. The dude has had so much plastic surgery he doesn’t even look human anymore. And his hands look like Michael Jackson’s. I really can’t stand him. I think he won’t have much of a career after all the publicity for Legend is over. I can’t see how he’s interesting to the public or anyone else.
Man, I can’t say enough how crazy he looks. Wow.
And Lee Ji Ah. Just can’t stand her. Every time I see a picture of her she just looks like someone I would want to punch in the face. Even when she’s smiling in a pretty dress. I would totally scrap with Lee Ji Ah. B*tch is from New York, but I could take her down. New York b*tches won’t stand a chance against country girls from the Carolinas. I would take her down.

Damn these girls are thin and reed-like to be able to pull off those greco-roman looks.
You know what normal girls look like in those dresses? It’s like wearing a pillowcase, not pretty.
Koreans like rocking a simple, elegant look. That’s the national aesthetic.
It’s a refreshing difference from American red carpet events where everyone packs the big guns with gifts and loans from couture designers and all try to outdo each other with bling and ostentation. I liked Bjork’s swan dress years ago though, that was fun.

Why is there antagonism towards Lee Ji Ah and Lee Philip? They haven’t picked or worn the best outfits to awards shows since they finished The Legend, but if Philip were to wear his hair down and the blue clothes of his character and Ji-Ah did the same–major fan appreciation would occur.

Saw snippits of the actresses walking on the red carpet on ‘Entertainment Weekly’. And the gowns were way too long for most of the actresses that some of them had difficulty as they walked up the stairs. And really, why wear a low-cut,boobies-bearing gown when they kept covering their chest with their hand everytime they take a bow… doesn’t it just defeat the whole purpose of wearing those type of gowns. I don’t get it, why bother covering your modesty when bowing and yet the boobies are on parade as they walk up the red carpet (take note Eun-hye).Might as well wear high-necked gowns!!
