Comedian Shin Dong-yup launched IXEX, diet sneakers at Hyatt Hotel at Han-nam dong on April 28th. The well-connected comedian failed at convincing his celeb friends to attend this off-beat event and I don’t blame them. Who would want to attend a diet sneaker launch show hosted by a mid-age comedian?

First of all, what the hell are diet sneakers? Do you wear them to burn more calories? If so, who would want to wear those odd looking sneakers out in daylight?

Second, why is Shin Dong-yup, a male comedian who never dieted selling weight-loss sneakers? He should’ve hired female celebrity who experienced significant weight-loss to back this product.

Finally, it was obvious that the attendees were forced to attend because they clearly did not belong at the event. Singer Kim Jang-hoon, actor Jo Jae Hyun and Jewelry are the least likely individuals to use Shin Dong-yup’s diet sneakers. Or appeal to consumers who might test drive IXEX.

It looks like another flop in the works. Disappointed in otherwise smart and witty comedian. Perhaps he’s just not the business type.

Son Dambi is back with her new single “Bad Boy”, looking like an average k-pop diva. Although it has been reported that the “female Bi” beefed up her dance moves in America, she didn’t showcase any of her new moves. Instead, she recycled some of her “Cry Eye” moves, making me want to revoke her “female Bi” tag line. Furthermore, the song is predictably lackluster, amounting to more or less techno crap infused with the cheesy line “You are my bad boy.”

But Son Dam Bi’s latest single wasn’t all a failure. In the MV, she proved that she can drive and stare blankly into a camera. Now that’s an accomplishment.

History repeats itself and so does K-pop history. Monday Kiz’s Kim Minsoo’s unfortunate death undeniably resembles Wanted’s Suh Jae Ho’s death back in 2004. Granted, the two were involved in two different types of accidents - motorcycle and car - but the fact that these two talented singers passed away when they started to receive the attention they truly deserved ties them together. And the fact that these two never got to experience their fame makes their deaths even more tragic.

Something like this should never happen again. Rest in peace Kim Minsoo.

Clothing brand, Mango held a Summer Fashion Show at their store in Apkujong-dong last week. Since it’s Mango, we know that the stars will be somewhat dressed stylishly.
